Seamlessly visualize and analyze data from multiple sources. Grapher natively reads numerous file formats including ACCDB, DBF, and XLSX. Grapher also supports most popular export formats. Easily manage all your data in Grapher.
Collaborate with Confidence
Quickly share your charts with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
Get your graphs ready for printed publications by exporting to high
quality formats like PDF or TIFF, or share your work online by exporting
to PNG or SVG formats. Alternatively, Grapher makes it easy to insert
diagrams into presentation tools such as Microsoft Word or PowerPoint
with a simple copy and paste.
Get up and running in matter of minutes. Grapher's user interface was
designed to take the guesswork out of learning a new program. We worked
hard streamline workflows so you don't have to.
Grapher User Interface Features
- Single window to view, edit, and manipulate the data and charts
- Object manager to easily manage graphs, axes, and other objects
- Property manager for easy access to plot properties
- Worksheet window to quickly view or edit raw data

Work Smart, Not Hard with Automation
Don't waste time doing the same process over and over. Create scripts
to automate repetitive tasks, and run your favorite scripts directly
from the Grapher ribbon. Grapher can be called from any
automation-compatible programming languages such as C++, Python, or
Perl. Grapher also ships with Scripter, a built-in Visual Basic
compatible scripting tool. Better yet, use the script recorder to
transform actions performed in Grapher into a script.
Save time with automation, and save even more time by reviewing the extensive set of sample scripts in the Grapher Automation Knowledge Base!
Golden Software Enhances Grapher Package to Handle Plotting of More Data Sets at Once
New capabilities significantly improve the user’s ability to model, analyze and interpret multiple data sets together.
Grapher is used extensively by scientists and engineers in oil & gas operations, environmental consulting, climate research, mineral exploration, and academic pursuits. The package offers deeper insights into diverse data sets, including chemical, physical, geologic and geospatial data, through 80 different 2D and 3D plotting types.
“The enhancements and additions in the latest version of Grapher are designed to make it easier for users to tackle bigger scientific graphic projects – involving more data,” said Leslie McWhirter, Grapher’s Technical Product Manager. “New functionality enables users to create visually dynamic graphs that communicate results clearly and concisely.”
The newest release of Grapher includes these enhancements:
Broken Axis Bar Charts – When displaying data with bar charts in which one or more bars has a significantly higher value than others, break the axis and the bars with a symbol or grid line to draw attention to the full range of data values.
New Colormap Editor – Customize colormap gradients to adjust the colors and opacity, making it easier to emphasize a zone of significance in a plot.
Color Gradients across Multiple Line Plots – Apply a colormap gradient across multiple line plots in a graph in order to quickly and easily differentiate them from one another.
Grid Lines across Multiple Axes – To make correlations between plots easier to see, extend grid lines across two or more plots sharing common X or Y axes.
New Legends and Color Scales – Add color scales to scatter plots colored with a colormap gradient, and legends to plots containing color tables or symbol tables, making for easier-to-understand graphics.
Add Plot Titles –Label plots with the plot name in order to convey what the plot represents without having to add a legend.
Print or Export Multiple Pages – From multi-page project files, print or export one, many, or all of those pages using a single time-saving operation.
Enhanced File Share Functionality – Grapher Preview users can now save files that can automatically be opened into the latest Grapher release without having to save back to an older file format. Additionally, files created in any future version of Grapher or Grapher Preview can be opened in any version back to this version of Grapher.
There are many exciting new
features in Grapher v15! We focused on usability, workflow enhancements,
and common user requests. With Grapher 15 you have more options than
ever to customize and display your data! The top new features are listed
1. Break Axis improvements
Draw more attention to important regions of your graphs with these new break axis features:
- Draw line plot to break axis limits
- Add a symbol or line before and after the break axis limits on the plot itself
- Choose from four different options for the break axis symbol
2. Fit Curve improvements
Gain more insights into your data by adding fit curves to more data types than ever before! Model down-hole data with X=F(Y) fit curves or model individual classes or all classes in class scatter plots to make more informed decisions about your data.
3. New Math Plot
Create product plots, subtraction
plots, average plots, and any other function-type plot you desire with
the new-and-improved Math Plot. Previously called the Summation Plot,
the functionality for this plot type has been expanded to support any
type of function that Grapher supports.
4. Box Plot customization
Convey more information than ever
before by choosing alternative statistics on a box-whisker plot for the
center line, box edges, and whiskers. Center line options are: Median or Mean. Box edge options are: Quartiles, user-defined Percentiles, a user-defined Confidence level, a user-defined Standard deviation, a user-defined Standard error, Minimum/maximum, and Average. Whisker options are: IQR*factor (where factor is user-defined), Minimum/maximum, user-defined Percentiles, a user-defined Standard deviation, and a user-defined Standard error.
5. Fill between plots differently above and below intersection
Accentuate differences between two plots by choosing different fill
settings for portions above the intersection of the plots versus
portions below the intersection of the plots.
6. Label contours
Create more informative graphics by labeling some or all contours for the various contour maps in Grapher.
7. Transform worksheet data with relative cell references
Do you like how Excel can copy an equation downwards to populate an
entire column? Now you can do this in Grapher too! Define one transform
equation that references specific cells, and copy it down through all of
the rest of your data rows.
8. UI Improvements
Save time by finding commands more quickly and with fewer clicks with the following rearrangements:
- Move pie chart slice properties into Property Manager
- Move legend entry properties into Property Manager
- Move shared contour map levels properties into Property Manager
9. Scatter plot symbol color improvements
Exercise more control over the display of scatter plots with these color improvements:
- Color symbols based on a data value mapped to a colormap gradient
- Color symbols from an RGB color column
10. Many more!
- Option to move error bars behind symbols in line/scatter plot
- Ability to reverse direction of ternary plot axes
- Reset pie chart slice properties to defaults
- Automation: add and edit text using MathText commands
- Automation: specify data file for use when opening a GRF with missing data
- Windows 7, 8 (excluding RT), 10 or higher
- 32-bit and 64-bit operation system support
- 1024 x 768 or higher monitor resolution
with minimum 16-bit color depth
- At least 500 MB free hard disk space
- At least 512 MB RAM
